A Dane, a Finn and two Swedes won pistol gold on the second day

First pistol finale that was taking place this day was the one in the womens event. Yesterday's winner Vendela Sörensson, Öckerö, took the lead exactly like the day before. Today, however, it became tougher since Stina Lawner, Falun, as well as Finnish Kirsti Kaaro remained one point behind.

When four shooters became three Stina Lawner managed to take the lead and when only the three of them were left Kirsti Kaaro took over second place which placed Sörensson third.

In the finale between Lawner and Kaaro, the later who won the silver medal yesterday, it was Kaaro who performed the best shots and thus could go on and win.
- It's great. I think I won because of the routine, I did not try too much. It was not the intention, but it is nice that it was revenge from yesterday, says Kaaro.

Stina Lawner was a disappointed runner up.
- It is too bad. Thus, I have never taken the gold here and that's what I want. But I stood for a too long time ... It's a shame when you don't do what you should because you want too much, says Stina who quickly figures out that she has probably seven or eight junior silver and bronzes here before.

Julia and Josefine switched places

Just a little while after the silver for Stina it was time for her sister Julia Lawner in the finale for junior women. Yesterday she won the silver after Josefine Johansson, and today the roles would be just the opposite. Josefine had the lead for a long while but when she scored some poor shots towards the end Julia took the lead. Finally she could win with 194.0 to 192.2 for Johansson.
- The result is not good, but I think it's fun to shoot the finale. It gets a little more important with the score and a little more pressure, and I like that. Especially when the audience applauds because then you know that it really matters. And just like yesterday, it's fun when you meet a friend in the finale, Julia says.

Josefine Johansson was delighted over the gold for Julia, but she was sceptic about her own performance.
- Strangely, I shot better now than yesterday, apparently. But I shot 7.6 in the last shot - and you should not end with a 7.6, she says.

Finnish shooter Anna Anttila ended up with the bronze.

Daniel got revenge

In the men's event Swedish shooter Daniel Johansson, Upsala Sportskytteklubb, had his revenge from yesterday when he lost the lead and ended up fifth in the finale. This second day of competition he maintained the lead all the way out. Even though he made it a little exciting at the end. In the second shot from the end Johansson scored 9.1 and invited the Finn Karri Turunen, yesterday's gold medalist, into the match. The ended up on the exact same score, so the last shot became crucial. But when Johansson shot 10.3 against Turunen's 9.0 the gold was his. Total victory score was 197.5 to 196.2.
- I'm very happy. Above all, it is nice to get revenge from yesterday, Johansson says.

Bernt Alpenhoff from Malmö Gun Club in Sweded won the bronze.

Second gold to Frederik Larsen

The men's junior finale was a long and steady struggle between Danish Frederik Larsen and Oscar Nilsson from Sweden. Both of them had the chance for gold all the way to the end, but Frederik Larsen put an end to the fight scoring two tens in the fourth and third shot from the end, compared with two nines for Nilsson.
- It was a good finale where I had a bit more luck in the start today than yesterday. And then it was a good fight against Oscar, says Larsen.

Oscar Nilsson himself is less pleased.
- Hopeless. I should have it, because I know I'm good at this. But it is not always as it can go well. But I won bronze yesterday, silver today and I want the gold tomorrow. I hope it will be mine, he says.

Leevi Sirén from Finland finnished third.
