- It was very good. I was lucky today. When I shot there was no rain and no technical problems. My rifle was good, my ammunition okay and equipment good, Sike says after receiving his gold medal.
Jozsef Sike had 195 before the second round of shooting. In his third and fourth serie he shot 99+99 points, and with a total of 393 points no one could stop Sike from winning. And after the final shots he looked relieved.
- I was very nervous in the end. The last six shots were very hard, because I knew the score was good and I knew I maybe could win. And I was also very tired, Sike says.
The silver medal to Emil Martinsson, Sweden, with 390 points.
- The result wasn't the best, it should have been more. But it was a nice start, he says.
Krister Holmberg, Finland, ended up with 388 after 40 shots, as well as three more. Shoot off followed which Holmberg won by scoring 20 points on his two shots.
- It is always fun to win a shoot off, and bronze is a medal so it is okay, he says afterwards.
